One of the most common barriers to eating healthy is time. If you are like most people, you want healthy, affordable, delicious meals that don't requires hours in the kitchen cooking in multiple pots and pans.
This page is designed to give tips to readers about how they can improve or augment actions in their life to have a healthy lifestyle; it is not meant to be all inclusive but will include major components that are considered to be parts of a lifestyle that lead to good health.
In addition to the tips about what people should do for healthy living, the page will mention some of the tips about avoiding actions (the don'ts) that lead to unhealthy living.
"Healthy living" means both physical and mental health are in balance and functioning well together in a person. Physical and mental health are closely linked, so that a change (good or bad) in one directly affects the other. Consequently, some of the tips will include suggestions for emotional and mental "healthy living."
The importance of physical fitness cannot be emphasized enough. In today's society that is moving towards a more sedentary lifestyle, there is a greater need than ever to increase the daily activity level to maintain both cardiovascular fitness and body weight. Physical activity doesn't have to be strenuous to produce results. Even moderate exercise can lead to lasting health benefits.
Remember three simple guidelines:
Exercise at moderate intensity for 30 minutes each day.
Avoid periods of inactivity; some exercise at any level of intensity is better than none.
At least twice a week, supplement aerobic exercise (cardio) with weight-bearing activities that strengthen all major muscle groups.
